We hope that you all had a wonderful holiday! We took an impromptu break to celebrate the reason for the season with our family and friends. We truly want to thank all of our followers for their support in through the year and cannot wait to share with you all the great things that we have planned for 2012.

Wow! Where did 2011 go? Only hours left before we ring in the New Year and welcome in 2012. Along with the New Year comes New Year's resolutions. Hmmmmmm - will I be among the many to crowd the gym again in January? Although I need to, this New Year we are making a resolution to use up my stash & our FF #98 challenge welcomes you to join us.

I am so guilty of hoarding all sorts of craft products! I have been crafting for over 2 years now & I have watched just about EVERY crafting youtube video out there and just NEEDED all the supplies each crafter used. But my worst culprit was paper packs - so I incorporated one of my oldest paper packs into my FF#98 challenge.

FF#95...with a KISS and the SOG!

Ok...that was about as good a title I could come up with for this post! We'll get to FF#95 in just a moment, but... First...the SOG!

We here at the Shoe would like to kick off our own little "Season of Giving." During the month of November, we are asking you to contribute cards to the Season of Giving Card Drive. We have chosen to collect cards to donate to the Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters in Virginia. Our lovely Shoe, Cammi, first brought us this idea a few weeks ago, and we've been doing a little bit of work behind the scenes to see what all needed to happen in order to conduct this card drive properly. So first...let me let Cammi explain a little bit about the thoughts behind this card drive:

Being in the hospital is difficult for the not only the patient, but also the patient’s family. While spending time with your loved one in the hospital it quickly becomes apparent how precious time is. I work at a children’s hospital and have watched families struggle with trying to be able to be in so many places at one time. I have watched mothers struggle with the desire to go and pick up a get well card for their sick family member or a thank you card for the doctor or nurse who helped them through their toughest time; but not wanting to leave their loved ones bedside.

So here's how it will work...for all Fashionista Friday challenges between today (Nov. 7th) and Dec. 8th, we ask that when you enter a card in our challenges, that you consider sending in the cards for our SOG Card Drive. Cards (with envelopes please) can be mailed to Cammi at the following address:

and to let you know a little bit more about what we'll be doing during the Season of Giving...I'll let Tanisha explain this part:

CHKD that stands for Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters. Every year they hold a radiothon to raise money for the children's hospital. Well yours truly, thats right Lesley, Cammi and Tanisha will be there volunteering the night of December 9th answering phones and taking pledges. Here is a quick little blurb from the website: Tune in to 94.9 The Point December 7th-10th as Chuck and Woo-Woo broadcast their 10th Annual Radiothon to benefit CHKD. Hear amazing stories of CHKD patients who overcame great odds to survive illnesses and traumatic events. The event will be broadcast live from the CHKD lobby. Call 668-9000 during the event to make your pledge and help the children!

While July 4th has technically passed, I'm sure we all have some great pics from this past Holiday weekend that most definitely need to be turned into fab scrapbook pages, or some cards that need to be made and sent to friends and family both at home and abroad, or maybe...you have some time to make a card for a service member who could use a little taste of the homefront!

If so, check out the folks at Operation Write Home, who are always looking for some cards to share with our Soliders, Sailors, Marines and Airmen. The cards they collect are packaged and sent to our servicemembers so they can help heroes keep in touch with home (their slogan, not mine). There are specific restrictions on items and products allowed on the cards (i.e. NO GLITTER), so please check out the OWH Card Guidelines for additional information! I can think of nothing better than to give a card for a great cause (IMHO). I hear the next major event they are seeking cards for is Back to School (just saying) And now...I step off my soap box...

DT Requirements:

An active blog, that you post to at least weekly
Participate in at least 3 challenges a month and post those challenges on your blog
Regular internet access. All challenges are posted in the Shoe DT Yahoo group and members will need to check in on a regular basis.
Be able to work with digital images as we have many digi image sponsors (and they are fabulous!)

What we can offer you:

An opportunity to meet new people and make new friends

A few announcements...

Hello Bloggerville! Hope all is well with you. We have a few announcements to make today...and some just plain chat...so here we go!

First...and let's just get the sad part out of the way...our fab gal Tracey has decided to take her leave of the Shoe...at least for the time being. She has been an integral part of the Shoe since our first challenge post...and we'll miss seeing her fab creations here on a regular basis! She worked very hard to keep us going when so many things were happening in each of our lives and we can only say a huge THANK YOU for that! Hopefully she'll have the opportunity to play along with us from time to time! You can catch up with Tracey on her blog.

Ok...well that was really the only major announcement we had...but...oh wait...I was wrong. Check out Tanisha's blog. I won't spoil her surprise...but we will be welcoming a new Shoe to the family soon...very soon...heeheee!

Now we do have a few items for discussion...so grab your coffee..your tea...soda...what-ev...and settle in for a few minutes!

If the Shoe Fits...Scrap It began almost 2 years ago (SERIOUSLY??? 2 years??? WOWZA!) with a group of gals trying to expand in their scrap-etoire (no idea if that is spelled correctly...or a word...so just hang in there with it!). Can I just say how much we LOVE LOVE LOVE all of our followers and all of you that play along with us each week! Makes us SMILE! Thank you Thank you Thank you!!

We have gone through many changes...including DT members leaving, expansion and contraction of our DT, closing down our ning group, growth at home and here, changes in our challenge direction and more than anything...expansion of our individual styles. No matter the changes, the one thing that has remained is the core friendship of the "three musketeers" that kicked this party off! So it is kind of a cool thing for me at least (BTW...this is Lesley posting) to look back at all of the challenges and posts and see how this blog thing has grown!

Now that I've waxed philosophical about the past two years...time for some confessions...we are crazy women! I kid you not! LOL! Each of us is a Mom, a Wife, some manner of sports fan, and SCRAPPY-STAMPY scrappers (not to mention the bazillion of other hats we all wear...much like ya'll)! We all have a job that exists outside of our artistic endeavors. I work a full-time job, Tracey is a fab stay-at-home Mom and Navy wife, and our gal Tanisha is active duty in the Navy. I would be remiss if I did not talk about our fab DTer Jill (and seriously just plain WRONG if I did not mention she is a die hard Buffalo Sabres fan!). Check out her blog and learn more about Jill and her day-to-day life and challenges)!

This blog began as a bit of a creative outlet. We all love stampin' and scrappin'...so why not take our hobby and share it with other like-minded folks! However, we have begun to accept the fact that life does not always play along as we'd like. Sometimes home and work and kids and sports pull us away. So please understand that as hard as we try to bring you several amazing samples for each week's challenge...sometimes we just plain can't!

What does this all mean??? Well...NEVER FEAR! The Shoe is here to stay! This just means that on occasion we will take a bit of time...let a challenge run for two weeks instead of a set weekly challenge...or occasionally take a vacation! We promise to notify you as we go! Sometimes life just happens while you are busy making other plans!

Now...Sponsors...we are busy working behind the scenes to set up at least one sponsor a month. We love to share new and exciting things with our followers and give ya'll a chance to get some fab goodies for yourselves! Yes! simple as that, add TEXTURE to your projects! However you want to add it, as long as there is texture! Here is what we came up with for Grumpy Gretchen:

Jill used rock candy stickles, glossy accents, glitter glazed patterned paper, and more on 'shopaholic'

I (Tracey) embossed and used rock candy crackle paint, along with some stickles as well on 'martini'. I also used one of Digi's with an Attitude's fun sentiments from 'sentiments set 1'
