Ad inspired card challenge

Happy Wednesday everyone! Hope y'all had a great Memorial Day weekend, and are well rested. Before we get to todays challenge, I wanted to remind you of our guest designer call. Now it is time to get creative! Check out this ad I found randomly one day. I looked at it and thought....what a GREAT AD FOR A CHALLENGE! With all the bright colors and different elements, the possibilities are endless! It is just a FUN ad!

Happy Memorial Day!!!!

Todays post is going to be a real simple one. We all have a budget, (or are husbands may put us on one) so lets just say we all like to save money. I got this cute little box from the dollar store. I altered it, with paper and ribbon that I had in my stash already, along with other elements. Modge Podge is also a wonderful thing when altering wooden projects. This particular box was given to my mother with goodies stuffed inside for Mother's day! You however could use for whatever you like.

So to do a project such as this would run you less than 10.00 bucks! Check out the ning later on for more details on this wooden box. Have a happy and safe Memorial Day!!

It's a black tie affair....

...well...not really......just black and white friday! Yes, our color challenge today is BLACK and WHITE! Nothing more! Just black and white! You may make whatever you want for this challenge as long as there is no color involved! If you are making a layout, the picture also needs to be black and white. Sound challenging??? What day is it?? Early Wednesday- Card Challenge Wednesday of course!

Sorry, this post was supposed to come out tomorrow, obviously, lol.

So here we are bringing another card challenge for all those card makers out there. Today's Challenge... Beach Themed. Now I know you are wondering, "What the heck am I going to do with a beach themed card"? Well, I tell you what, they would make a great substitute for a post card! I actually had a time with challenge, lol. But, it's fun and definitely not your normal card challenge. Here is what a few of us from the DT came up with.

Scrap-a-Doodle-Doo Monday!

Hello lovelies and Happy Monday! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! It's that time again here at the Shoe...where we take the opportunity to show off some of the fantabulous items that can be found at Scrap-a-Doodle-Doo!

Four members of the Design Team each received identical kits from Scrap-a-Doodle-Doo and with minimal items from our own stash we each created a LO using the kits! The goal being to show you how versatile a scrapbooking kit can be. When we received our kits...there was a lot of drooling going on over some of the most gorgeous papers ever seen! Here is a picture of the kit:

Gorgeous huh???? There were two pieces of Bazzil Cardstock, One sheet of Prima paper (doublesided), One shett of Prima Sew Cute stitched Mulberry Paper paper (this paper is already stitched and sewn...and it's beautiful!), an assorment of flowers, some fantastic velvet ribbon and a blingeriffic piece of Prima Say it in Crystals! Let me tell you...the textures and colors are fantastic! Now lets see what the DT did with this kit:

A couple other things to mention about Scrap-a-Doodle-Doo...they have all of this season's releases from Basic Grey including: Porcelain, Lime Rickey and Marrakech papers (currently sold out of Wisteria...sniff) and tons of new items showing up regularly! Including some fantastic stuff by Bo Bunny! So definitely take a moment to check them out!

We only really get this opportunity once a month...so we must take it and thank the oh so terrific Miss Adina who not only keeps us in contact with out sponsor, but also helps manage our Ning! Between her and the oh so rockin' Miss Karmyn...there are so many fantastic things going on...so definitely take a chance to swing by!

Friday Color Challenge!!

So it's finally Friday and you are so wondering what today's color challenge is going to be. Well, here it is!!

I dont know what it is about these colors, but I just love the way they mesh together! I hope all the mothers out there had a fabulous Mother's Day. So, this monday's challenge is going to challenge for you to think outside of the box. I asked the DT to send me a pic of their favorite LO, card, or altered item. Then, take an element off of each pic and create a new layout. So, with that said that is your challenge. Take an element off of each one of the DT's favorite pic and create a new one. Here is what the DT sent:

Here is how members of our DT 'combined' all 5 projects:

I took the birds from mine, Kristy's the sketch, Dawn's the pot of flowers, Lesley's the double embossed chipboard letters, and last but not least....i took title from Tanisha !!!

I got the bird and handcut elements from Tracey, the wings next to the title from Lesley, swirls from Dawn, heart on the photo and stitching from Tanisha and the frame with beads and the letters on it from myself

From Tracey's I took the bird, Lesley's the circle, Kristy's the frame around the pic, Tanisha's the stitching and the embossed swirls, and mine I took the Black and White paper
